Details
You wish to discover the Grand Canyon du Verdon but in a sporting way? Join us on a river trekking tour!
The entrance gate to the canyon is the most vertiginous part of the gorges - the vertical cliffs rise several hundred metres. River trekking is the only way to discover this part of the Verdon. During the Couloir Samson tour, be ready to jump, to cross rapids that refresh your face, but especially to enjoy the breathtaking views of the canyon, its rocks, its caves and the vultures.
Let yourself be rocked by the waves of Verdon to discover its immensity!
Unlike canyoning, a river trekking descent does not include any abseiling passage.
Tour programme
- Preparation:
We meet at our base in Castellane, where you will be equipped. Then you will receive a briefing by your guide, during which he gives you information about your safety and the characteristics of the course. Now that you are ready to challenge the white water, we take a bus that takes us to the activity (20 min).
- Tour:
Our course, the Samson Corridor, is a succession of rapids and jumps. It is one of the narrowest and most vertiginous parts of the Grand Canyon du Verdon. Above you, you see the vultures, the Road of Crests and the climbers. The return is made by the famous "Martel Path" which follows sometimes the Verdon, but most of the time, it presents the characteristic to be a tunnel dug into the cliffs.
- Return:
After our tour, you will be transported back to our base.
