The two areas are linked by easy pistes and offer numerous green runs with varying terrain that are perfect for learners to practice the skiing basics.
Ski schools in Alpe d’Huez offer ski lessons to young learners aged 2yrs and older. In the first lessons, ski novices familiarise themselves with the equipment whilst learning the basics of snowplough and gliding.

Kids’ ski lessons in Alpe d’Huez
Ski schools in Alpe d’Huez offer ski lessons from age 2yrs. The youngest skiers learn the snowplough and glide in one of the kindergarten areas. The kindergarten slopes are secure and very child-friendly, and ski mascots help the little learners get used to moving on skis.
Dependent on the school, kids aged either 4yrs+ or 6yrs+ and up to 12yrs start to learn the basics on green beginner slopes within the resort. Classes have no more than 10 participants and are arranged according to ability and age.
Once the snowplough and glide moves are secure, lessons progress to easier blue runs, to further improve the basic techniques. The ski schools in Alpe d’Huez take their young skiers with previous experience directly to the more challenging blue or red runs within the resort, to work on parallel skiing or carving turns.
Families with mixed abilities can head up to the Pic Blanc glacier in the Marmottes lifts, to enjoy skiing the high altitude blue runs.
