The overall experience was very fun. You get time to see the entire island and even get a little swim, without it feeling long or tiring. The boat crew was also very friendly and engaging.

The snorkeling trip was fantastic and highly recommended! We were met at the dive center at 8:30, received our gear, and were able to swap clothes/shoes if something didn't fit. The dive center offers restrooms, changing rooms, hot showers, and towels. You can leave your gear there during the trip; water and snacks (bananas and pasteis de nata) were available along the way. We also brought food for our lunch break on the boat. We were driven to the harbor and then boarded two speedboats. The total group consisted of about 30 people. As a family with three children, we had our own dive guide, Cissi. (There were always 4-5 people in a group. The groups always snorkeled together at the same time and kept plenty of distance between each other.) Our snorkeling guide was always very attentive, explained a lot (she's studying marine biology), and even had a handbook on fauna and flora with her. She was competent, adapted to our pace, paid special attention to our youngest daughter, and explained the dangers – overall, she was very competent, relaxed, friendly, and approachable. Everyone at the dive center speaks fluent English. We visited two snorkeling spots and had plenty of time to snorkel. We also snorkeled through a cave and saw lots of fish. We were lucky and even saw octopuses twice. Very fascinating! Great trip!
