Details
The clear Mediterranean Sea around Saint Paul's Bay is the perfect place for your first scuba diving experience. With the help of our local diving instructors, you will learn how to handle the diving equipment before you head into the open sea. The fantastic underwater world of the Maltese archipelago awaits you with diverse flora and fauna to be discovered on your first dives.
Goal of the course
The Try Scuba Open Water course allows you to try diving without completing a full course. You learn how to handle the equipment and find out what it feels like to breathe underwater. After a theoretical introduction and shallow water exercises, you can apply and consolidate your new skills in two open water dives to 12m depth.
Meeting & Preparation
If you arrive by car, parking is widely available nearby. We either meet directly at our base at the Gillieru Harbour Hotel or pick you up from your accommodation (in St. Paul's Bay area only) and take you to the dive centre. Here you will get to know your instructors and receive the equipment. As soon as the group is ready, we will start the course. The group size is limited to 5 participants in the regular course and 2 participants per instructor in the VIP option.

We had so much fun on the diving course! Nadine was the best and most relaxed teacher we could have wished for. We felt safe and comfortable the whole time and would come back anytime! Already the highlight of the holiday for us!

No, the ability to swim is a requirement to take part in this activity.
What are the requirements to participate?
The minimum age for this activity is 12 years. You also need to be in good physical health (no cardiovascular issues, lung diseases, diabetes, or mental health conditions) and be able to swim.
What is included in the course?
The course includes a theoretical introduction, 2 open water dives, a certified SSI diving instructor, high-quality diving gear and a scuba tank. Pick-up from your accommodation in the St. Paul's Bay area is also included. Please note that for boat dives, an extra EUR 10 per dive is charged on site.
What is the group size?
The group size for the regular course is limited to a maximum of 5 participants, while the VIP option has a maximum of 2 participants per instructor.
