If you've chosen Saint-Jean-de-Luz as your next holiday destination and would like to use this opportunity to learn how to surf, let us give you some advice: opt for surf lessons in Hendaye! It's here, in Hendaye, that you will find one of the most beautiful beaches in the Basque Country that also offers ideal conditions for surfing. So prepare yourself for an unforgettable adventure in a group of maximum 8 participants per instructor.
Although we are based in Hendaye, we offer a pick-up service for precisely situations like these, as there are no surfing spots in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. We will pick you up in Saint-Jean-de-Luz and drop you off after the lesson.
Meeting & Preparation
We meet at the Katxi Klothing shop in Saint-Jean-de-Luz at the booked time. After a 30-minute drive, you'll reach our base in Hendaye. Here, you can change and store your belongings in one of the 50 lockers that are at your disposal. Once your group is ready, your instructor will give you your wetsuit as well as a short briefing about the lesson. Then, all you have to do is grab a nice board, and follow your instructor to the sea!
The advantage of Hendaye beach is that the starting times of our lessons do not depend on the tides. Since the beach is quite large, your instructor will choose a suitable place on the beach. Another little bonus: you don't have to be able to swim! You can walk up to 20 m into the waters of Hendaye beach and you will always be able to stand!
Course Content

- Practice in the sea (2 hrs of training in total, including 1.5 h spent in the water)
Beginner surfers will be shown the basics of surfing including knowledge of the environment, catching a wave in a lying position, standing up on the board, pushing through waves.
