Private Surf Lessons for Kids & Adults - All Levels

Learning how to surf or improving your skills is a lot more entertaining if you do it only with your friends or family! Black Sand Box offers you the opportunity to take a private surf lesson with one of their certified surf instructors, either alone or in a small group with up to 3 of your friends or relatives. You will benefit from the expertise of our instructors during a course tailored to your needs and desires that will ensure rapid progress. With us, learning must first and foremost be fun, so don't hesitate any longer and enjoy an unrivalled experience on Azores' beaches!

Meeting & Preparation
We meet directly at the beach. We will send you the exact location and time the day before your lesson to ensure the best surfing experience, as it all depends on the weather conditions and tides. Naturally, we will inform you in time, so you can make the necessary arrangements. We can also offer you a pick-up service for a surcharge. All these details will be arranged once your booking is complete. In total, you should plan approximately 3 hours for your surfing lesson.

Start time
The start time depends on the tides to ensure the best conditions, so please plan some extra time on the day of your surf lesson. The exact start times are available the day before the course. We will inform you in time after you have completed the booking.

Course Content
Each course lasts 1.5h and consists of:
- Meeting with your instructor and receiving a briefing on the conditions, the beach hazards, etc.
- The right warm-up
- Introduction to surfing and practice on the beach
- Practice in the sea
