The French FFESSM level 1 qualification introduces you to the basics of diving and prepares you to be autonomous underwater. Your certified instructor will teach you alternately the theory and the practical application step by step and will ensure your safety. In the heart of the paradise landscapes of the Mediterranean Sea, we have planned a session in the sea to practise where many underwater wonders await you.The Level 1 FFESSM course qualifies you to:

The only way to learn the theory is to follow the theory course on site. You will learn all about the basics of scuba diving in a classroom at the dive centre with one of our instructors.
- Kick-off:
We will meet you at our base in Saint-Tropez 30 minutes before the agreed time. You can park there for €6 a day. Once you arrive, you will be welcomed by your instructor who will explain the program for the next few days. Throughout the course, your certified instructor will teach you successively the theory and the practice which will allow you to dive in open water to 20 m with ease accompanied by an instructor. In general, the course is done in 5 days, with 1 dive per day. It is possible to do it in 3 days, but we recommend 5 days to have enough time to learn the theory.Course content

Can I take part if I can't swim, and are life jackets/floating devices provided (including for kids)?
No, the ability to swim is a requirement for this course.
What are the requirements to participate?
To participate, you must be at least 12 years old, be in good physical health, and provide a medical certificate. You can get a medical certificate on-site for €35. If you wear glasses, you need to be comfortable wearing contact lenses.
What does the FFESSM Level 1 certification allow me to do?
