Our premium surf lessons on the Costa Vicentina with pick-up in Lagos allow you to learn how to surf in the Algarve under the best possible conditions. As local experts with nearly 30 years of ocean experience, we know exactly where to find the best waves along the west coast, selecting the ideal spot daily to suit your skill level.
To ensure elite coaching and maximum safety, our capacity is strictly limited to a maximum of 8 participants per day, supervised by a highly experienced coach certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation (FPS). This low ratio ensures real-time feedback and constant attention inside the water.
Meeting & Preparation
We pick you up at a suitable spot near or in Lagos, Carvoeiro and Portimao, which we will arrange individually after you completed your booking. Once we picked up all participants, we drive to the beach with the best conditions on the day. The drive there usually takes about one hour. Once we arrive, you receive your equipment, get changed and store your valuables in our car before we get started with the surfing lessons.
ScheduleFlexible Pick-up:
The exact time is individually confirmed the day before your lesson (depending on your location and ocean conditions). This allows us to track the best daily tide – meaning some days we start earlier, and other days it is better to head out later (e.g., 9:30 AM or onwards) for the perfect surfing conditions.
Transfer:
Travel to the selected beach on the Costa Vicentina (approx. 1 hour, or slightly longer depending on the scheduled pick-up route for the day).
Preparation:
Wetsuit and board distribution, getting changed, followed by a dedicated safety and technical briefing on the sand.
Surf Coaching:
A high-quality, focused session in the water with real-time feedback from your certified coach to maximize your technical evolution.
Break & Beach Time:
A relaxed break to rest, have a light snack, and enjoy the pristine natural environment.
Transfer Back:
Return drive to your original pick-up point after a structured, professional day at the ocean.
Course contentOcean Analysis & Safety Briefing:
A dedicated session on the beach focusing on safety rules, understanding local currents, and learning how to read wave formats.
Functional Warm-up:
A surf-specific mobility and stretching session on the sand to prepare your body for the water.
Technical Foundation (Dry Land Practice):
Master the correct prone position, efficient paddling technique, and the pop-up (getting up) with solid balance mechanics before hitting the water.
Water Practice & Wave Selection:
Learning how to timing the wave, catch it efficiently, and stand up with control in the dynamic ocean environment.
Real-Time Feedback & Progression:
Continuous coaching inside the water to correct your posture, refine your stance, or develop advanced techniques (such as turning and trimming) depending on your individual level.

RequirementsMinimum Age:
- 12 years old for direct online booking. (For younger children, please contact us directly prior to booking to evaluate ocean conditions and group availability).
Swimming Ability:
- Confident swimming skills and comfort in open ocean water are mandatory.
Physical Health:
- Good physical condition and free from any medical restrictions that could compromise your safety in dynamic ocean waves.
Good to know
- This group lesson requires a minimum of 3 participants to take place.
- For safety reasons, if ocean or weather conditions are unsafe or do not meet our high coaching standards on the day of your activity, the lesson will not take place and you will have the option to receive a full refund, upgrade to a private lesson or reschedule the lesson to another available day.

He takes his role as a teacher very seriously and places great emphasis on conveying technique in an understandable and precise manner. He explains not only the how, but also the why – in a way that you can really understand and implement.
The organization of surfing was also top-notch: Picking up went really well, and communication via WhatsApp was uncomplicated and reliable. If there were any delays, we were informed in a timely manner – that was very pleasant.
We surfed for three days, and it was no problem at all to take a break after the second day – that was also very flexible and relaxed.
