Details
Discover the sea bed of Crete with our trial scuba diving in Mononaftis Bay. For 45 minutes, you'll be immersed in an unknown but magical world, at a depth of 6 m (regulation depth for the first dive, 12 m for the second). You will meet fish of all colors, octopus, moray eels and, with a bit of luck, you may also see a turtle that sometimes wanders near our coast. Your dedicated instructor will supervise you and ensure your safety throughout your dive.
Dive Area
We dive at Mononaftis Bay, and if you choose the option with both dives, you will exit the bay for a slightly deeper dive.
Located just opposite the base, the seabed is rocky and home to a dense fauna and flora, making for fascinating diving. The bay's crystal-clear waters offer visibility to 30 m, so you'll have the chance to see plenty of marine life.
Programme
We meet at the booked time at our base behind the Nemo Bar in Mononaftis Bay. After a completed booking, we can arrange a transfer from your hotel. This service is subject to a surcharge. There is also a free parking spot available. We will then provide you with your equipment, and you can use our changing rooms. You can also leave your personal belongings in the lockers we provide. We will then head to the beach where you will have a 30-minute theory lesson on the basics of scuba diving with 4 to 5 other people. Once the theory has been explained, we will move on to the practice in the water: each participant will dive alone with their dedicated diving instructor for 45 minutes.
After learning the basics during this first dive, we invite you to repeat the experience on a 2ᵉ dive during the day. Before the start of the second dive, will have an hour break, you have the opportunity to snorkel, have a drink in one of the nearby tavernas or relax on the beach.
During this dive, you'll discover a completely different world, as you'll leave the bay for a slightly deeper dive (12 meters), where you'll be able to observe new types of fish as well as a singular relief. The second dive finish around 2 pm. Once both dives are over, we return to the base to return the equipment. The transfer back to your hotel leaves from the center at 4 pm. This will give you the chance to enjoy our lovely beach and dine in the traditional restaurants on the bay.
