What to Expect

Embark on a memorable day trip from either Chania or Rethymno to explore the captivating Imbros Gorge in Crete's White Mountains. Your journey begins with a comfortable pickup from your hotel, followed by a scenic bus ride to the gorge. Upon arrival, set off on a relaxing 3-hour hike through the narrow passages of Imbros Gorge, renowned for its impressive rock formations. Though smaller at 8 kilometers long, this gorge is just as picturesque as the famous Samaria Gorge.

During your descent, you’ll pass notable locations like the narrow Stenada, the wider Mesofarango, and the striking Xepitira Arch. An experienced guide will accompany you, providing interesting insights about the gorge’s natural wonders. After your hike, you will reach the village of Komitades, where buses will transport you to Chora Sfakion. Here, take some time to unwind at one of the seaside taverns or cafés, enjoying the scenic ocean views.

The adventure continues with a bus ride to the southern coast, where you’ll visit a beautiful beach for a refreshing swim in the Libyan Sea. Relax and indulge in a traditional lunch, soaking in the tranquil coastal atmosphere. Finally, the bus will take you back to your hotel in the Chania or Rethymno area, concluding a day filled with exploration and relaxation amidst Crete’s stunning landscapes.

How to Get There

• Meeting time: 20 minutes before departure

• Pick up: If you want to use our pick up service from around the area, please let us know after completing the booking. We will pick you up at a designated point at or very near to your accommodation at the scheduled pickup time. Note that the pick up is for free for the area of Rethymno, Heraklion or Chania. If you are located outside this area, a surcharge may apply and must be paid on site. At the end of the trip, we will go back to our starting point, and if you used our pick up service, you will be dropped off at the pick up point.
