What to Expect

Embarking on this unique route, we will explore Eastern Crete's famous destinations in a day, from Lassithi Plateau to Plaka, crafting lasting memories.Our journey begins with an ascent to the Lassithi Plateau, offering an excellent view of the North Cretan Sea. Our first stop will be at the traditional village of Krasi, nestled at an altitude of 600 meters. Here, we will admire the picturesque streets and the ancient plane tree, estimated to be at least 2,400 years old, with a trunk circumference of 24 meters. The village's old fountains, with natural waters flowing year-round, add to its charm.

Next, we head towards the Cave of Zeus (Diktaean Cave), where we will delve into Greek mythology's ancient roots. Continuing to the traditional village of Psychro, at an altitude of 830 meters, we will savour traditional Cretan flavours and try the famous Cretan Raki. As we descend through a scenic route, we reach the serene town of Agios Nikolaos, the cosmopolitan capital of the Lasithi prefecture. Here, we can marvel at the amazing lake and visit the enchanting city market. A delightful meal by the sea will be our treat in Agios Nikolaos.

After a break of about 2 hours, we set off for the magical destination of Elounda, known as the most beautiful part of Crete. The majestic views along the route will leave us in awe as we arrive at the fishing village of Plaka. Just 500 meters away lies the famous Spinalonga, the Leper Island, now a UNESCO cultural heritage monument. In Plaka, we will spend about 45 minutes enjoying a swim in the crystal-clear waters. We then return to our hotel through a route dotted with traditional settlements, carrying with us a treasure trove of pictures and memories.
