What to Expect

Embark on a captivating journey through central Crete, exploring two plateaus, like the Lasithi Plateau, at 1150 meters, uncovering local mythology, and experiencing traditional village life and stunning landscapes. Your adventure begins as you ride through lush olive groves, where the scent of fresh olives fills the air. The first highlight is the ruins of the Roman aqueduct in Lyttos, a marvel of ancient engineering. From there, we make our way to the traditional village of Kastamonitsa, where you can enjoy a coffee at a local coffee shop, stroll through narrow streets, and admire the architectural traditions of central Crete.

Our journey continues as we ascend dirt roads, enjoying stunning views along the way. Passing by the Monastery of Agia Anna, we reach the Limnakaro Plateau at an altitude of 1150 meters. Here, you will discover the stone-made refuges, or “mitata,” used by local shepherds, and be rewarded with breathtaking panoramas. Next, we visit the Cave of Zeus, believed to be the birthplace of the father of the gods. Following this mythical experience, you will savour an authentic meal of traditional Cretan cuisine at one of the best local taverns.

The final leg of our adventure includes a descent to the traditional village of Krasi, home to a 2000-year-old plane tree and an ancient natural water spring. Here, you can take in the village’s serene atmosphere and marvel at its natural beauty. As we make our way back to the hotel, you will pass through the picturesque landscape of Seli, capturing some of the best photos of your holiday.
