What to Expect

Embark on this eastern Jeep Tour to the village of Kounali. Our adventure commences with a visit to a quaint Olive Mill, where we delve into the art of olive oil production, experiencing both traditional techniques and modern methods, and even having the opportunity to acquire pure olive oil products. Our next stop is the birthplace of Pope Alexander V (1340-1410). Here, we will learn about his life, from his childhood to his rise to the highest office of the Roman Catholic Church.

Heading towards the mountains, we pass through the traditional settlement of Kourounes. Traversing a beautiful dirt road, we reach the historic Monastery Xera Xyla, which dates back to 1635. The serene surroundings and ancient architecture are a sight to behold. We then visit the place where Papas spent his student years, exploring the ruins of his school infrastructure. This stop offers a unique glimpse into the educational environment of the past.

Our final destination is the traditional village of Kounali, where we soak in the breathtaking views and capture amazing photos. In this picturesque village, we have the opportunity to enjoy the famous Cretan drink, Raki, accompanied by traditional delicacies in a local cafe. Filled with images and historical elements, we conclude our journey and return to your hotel.
