What to Expect

Join us for a comprehensive excursion to visit Mount Etna at sunset! Departing from Catania and the surrounding areas, you will admire ancient craters, new lava flows, lunar landscapes, volcanic bombs, and breathtaking views. The tour continues with the exploration of a volcanic cave, safely guided by our Naturalistic Guides.

This excursion gives you the chance to visit the volcano at sunset and enjoy its magnificent landscapes at the most evocative time of the day. From the meeting point, which will be determined when booking the tour, you will depart with our vehicles towards Mount Etna. During the ascent, you can admire lava flows from different eras, visit recent and ancient craters, and touch the so-called "volcanic bombs" that are scattered across the volcano's surface. Equipped with helmets and flashlights provided by us, you will experience the thrill of safely exploring an authentic lava flow cave. Our Naturalistic Guides will accompany you throughout the journey and will clearly and simply explain the volcanic phenomena that created these unique places.

You will discover extraordinarily beautiful natural scenarios, including the lunar landscapes around the Silvestri Craters and the harsh semi-desert area of the "Valle del Bove" volcanic caldera. At sunset, the slanting light over Mount Etna will provide enchanting views: you will find yourself immersed in a unique natural setting. You can enjoy the splendid moments of sunset on Etna and take memorable photos. The tour includes a stop in the town of Zafferana Etnea (CT), known for its delicious honey production. You will visit a certified farm that will welcome you with a tasting of typical products: Etna honey and fine wines produced from grapes grown in the local vineyards.
