What to Expect

Get ready to dive into Moroccan culture and experience sleeping under a starry night sky in the desert on this 2-day trip from Fes to Merzouga in the Sahara Desert with pick up and a unique camel ride. The adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Fes in an air-conditioned van or minibus. Your first stop will be at Ifrane, an alpine-style town known for its ski slopes and charming architecture. Next, you will venture into the cedar forests of Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains, where you can observe and feed the unique Barbary Monkeys. The journey continues to Midelt, a popular pitstop where you will have a break for lunch before heading through the lush green Ziz Valley.

Upon reaching Erfoud, you will make the final leg of the trip to Merzouga. After storing your luggage at a hotel, you will embark on a memorable camel trekking experience to enjoy the sunset on camelback. As the day ends, you will arrive at the nomad tents where dinner awaits under the starry sky, accompanied by a Berber folklore show. Spend the night in an overnight desert camp, surrounded by the serene and magical atmosphere of the Sahara.

On the second day, rise early to witness the Erg Chebbi sunrise, a sight that is simply unforgettable. Enjoy another camel trek back to the city for breakfast and a shower. The return journey to Fes includes a passage through Rissani, where you will visit Zawiya Moulay Ali Ash-Sharif. The trip continues through the dramatic Ziz Valley and includes a lunch break at Damn Hassan El-Awal. Before arriving back in Fes, you will have the chance to visit a Berber family living in the famous caves of Immouzar Kandar. This experience is ideal for those looking to immerse themselves in Moroccan culture and witness the beauty of the Sahara Desert.
