What to Expect

Get ready to have a truly Moroccan experience as you enjoy a 3-day trip from Fes to Merzouga in the Sahara Desert with included pick up and a camel ride. On the first day, you will be picked up by an air-conditioned van or minibus from your accommodation to drive from Fes to the Merzouga desert. The first stop is Ifrane, the alpine-style town home to ski slopes and cedar forests situated in Morocco’s Middle Atlas Mountains, where you can observe and feed the Barbary monkeys. After that, we will move on to the popular stop of Midelt for lunch before continuing through the lush green Ziz Valley and making a stop in Erfoud. Upon reaching Merzouga, you will spend the night at the accommodation with dinner and overnight accommodation in Merzouga.

After breakfast on the second day, enjoy a Rissani excursion through sand dunes and visit the desert village of Khamlia to learn about the rich heritage of southeastern Morocco. Attend a musical performance by “Pigeons du Sable” and immerse yourself in Gnawa traditional music. You will also walk through Khamlia to discover traditional houses belonging to the first inhabitants of the village. Afterward, enjoy an excursion to Rissani to see kasbahs and old palaces. Lunch will feature a traditional Moroccan pizza called "Madfouna." After lunch, return to the accommodation to relax and prepare for the camel trekking experience. Enjoy the sunset on a camelback as you travel to the nomad tents, where you will have dinner under the starry sky with a Berber folklore show, followed by an overnight stay in the desert camp.

Get up early on the third day for the beckoning Erg Chebbi sunrise. Enjoy a camel trek back to the accommodation for breakfast and a shower before beginning your journey back to Fes. On the way, you will pass through Rissani, visiting Ouarzazate Film Studios, Zawiya Moulay Ali Ash-Sharif, the dramatic Ziz Valley, and Dam Hassan El-Awal. After lunch, continue on to Imouzzer Kandar, to visit a family living in one of the famous caves. Finally, at the end of the Fes desert tour, you will be dropped off at your accommodation in Fes. This tour is ideal for those looking for an in-depth Moroccan adventure that combines cultural experiences with stunning natural landscapes.
