Join us for an unforgettable two-day Icelandic adventure, where you'll chase the Northern Lights at night and explore the stunning beauty of Lake Mývatn the next day. On the first night, escape the city lights of Akureyri and head into the tranquil Icelandic countryside. The Northern Lights, one of Earth's most mesmerizing natural phenomena, promise to dazzle with their vibrant displays. Each night, our expert guides choose locations with the clearest skies to ensure a memorable viewing experience.
The following day, embark on a scenic drive along the Eyjafjörður coast, renowned for its dramatic landscapes. Our first destination is the breathtaking Goðafoss waterfall, a site of historical and geological significance. As we continue to Lake Mývatn, marvel at the volcanic formations that define the area, including basaltic lava pillars and rootless vents. A visit to Grjótagjá cave reveals a hidden gem, while the Hverarönd hot spring area in Námaskarð offers a chance to witness geothermal wonders.
Relax at the Nature Baths of Mývatn, where you can soak in rejuvenating geothermal waters. We then explore the mysterious Dimmuborgir lava formations, a favorite among visitors for its unique landscapes. A stop at the Skútustaðagígar pseudocraters provides insight into Iceland's volcanic history. On our return, capture stunning views over Eyjafjörður fjord to Akureyri, the perfect conclusion to this well-organized small group tour.
