What to Expect

Become a certified diver with this Scuba Diving FFESSM Level 1 Course for beginners in Bouillante! Over the course of three days, you will complete a minimum of 6 dives, including open water dives. You will be guided by a professional diver who will ensure you learn the basic techniques and feel comfortable diving up to 20 meters deep. This course is suitable for anyone in good physical condition, and even if you do not know how to swim, you can dive!

Your journey begins at our dive center where all the equipment is provided. You will have a dedicated diving instructor who will prepare you 15 minutes before you head to the Pigeon islets in the Cousteau Reserve. You will set off from the pontoon on a boat, ready to discover the vibrant seabed of Guadeloupe. The course includes a mix of practical lessons and a few safety tips to ensure you have a memorable and secure experience.

The trial dives will take place in the serene waters around the Pigeon islets, where you will have the chance to admire the incredible marine life. The theory part of the course is taught through interactive sessions at our base, ensuring you understand all the essentials before diving into the open water. This experience promises to be both educational and unforgettable as you discover the beauty of the underwater world.

This course qualifies you to:

• Dive to a maximum depth of 20m (65 feet)

How to get there

• Meeting place: At our diving center in Malendure Beach in Bouillante

• Meeting time: 30 minutes before the start of the activity

• Car parks nearby: within a 5 minute walk (paid)

Programme

On-site Theory Lecture:

You will learn all about scuba diving theory in a classroom setting at the dive centre with one of our instructors.

Practice Sessions:

We will meet at the dive centre, at the agreed-upon time, check you in and have you fill out the necessary paperwork, including the Medical Statement. When it gets to your first practical diving sessions in the pool, we will provide you with all the rental equipment you need. The exact schedule of your course is set individually, based on your progress with the theoretical part of the course and on how much time you have to spare during the following days. We will discuss this on your first day at the dive centre.

Requirements

• Minimum age: 8 years

• Swimming ability

• Physical health

• If you wear prescription glasses, you need to be comfortable wearing contact lenses

• Medical certificate
