We meet outside the Volcano Trails headquarters (Desjamýri 8, IS-270 Mosfellsbær)
Join us and take on this unique self-drive Jeep tour into the Landmannalaugar highland region. Navigating a robust 4X4 Land Rover Defender Jeep, you will traverse some of the most stunning landscapes Iceland has to offer. Our first stop is the stunning Hjálparfoss, where you will have approximately 30 minutes to admire this beautiful, two-stepped waterfall cascading into a large plunge pool surrounded by unique basalt rock formations. This place, historically known as "help," provided much-needed respite for travelers and their horses on the arduous Sprengisandur route. Next, prepare to be amazed by the magical Sigöldugljúfur canyon, a sight that truly deserves its reputation as one of Iceland's most Instagram-worthy spots. Here, you can explore the area for about 45 minutes, taking in the many small spring-fed streams and colourful vegetation.
Our journey continues to the breathtaking Landmannalaugar, where you will have a couple of hours to fully immerse yourself in the area's unique beauty. A guided hike to Brennisteinsalda, known as the Sulfur Wave, offers you the chance to explore colourful rhyolite mountains and small hot springs with mystical steam. After the hike, indulge in a soothing bath in the natural pool, a perfect way to end your adventure in this enchanting landscape. This tour is ideal for those with a sense of adventure and a love for the rugged beauty of Iceland's highlands.
