These ski lessons for first timers aged 13 and older offer a safe and structured introduction to skiing in the picturesque Feldberg – Seebuck/Grafenmatt/Fahl ski resort. As the largest connected ski area in the Black Forest, it features 29 km of slopes, including a dedicated, protected practice area ideal for beginners. With small group sizes of up to 8 participants, the course ensures personalised attention and a supportive learning atmosphere.
The lesson starts with a detailed introduction to skiing basics, guided by experienced instructors using the renowned "Ski in a Day" method developed by Gundolf Thoma. Inspired by international expertise, this unique approach helps participants master essential skills quickly and effectively. The course begins with familiarising yourself with the equipment, followed by practicing straight gliding, safe braking, and executing plough turns on flat or gently sloping terrain. For those who choose the 4-hour option, the second half of the day focuses on learning how to use the lift and consolidating plough turns on easy slopes with rhythm exercises.
If you book the 2-day option, the second day builds on your skills with exercises to improve plough turns, movement readiness, and introduce parallel ski turns, turn transitions with pole planting, and speed control. The highlight of the course is a ride on the Seebuck chairlift to the summit of Feldberg at 1493 m, followed by a scenic descent, applying everything you have learned. Whether you are taking your first steps on skis or looking to progress confidently, these lessons offer a comprehensive and enjoyable way to begin your skiing journey in the beautiful Black Forest.
We meet at our ski school office, right at the foot of the Seebuck slope, 15 minutes before the start of the lesson. There, you will receive your course card.
