Make the most of your holiday in Mauritius and become a certified diver! With the Open Water Diver course, you take the first step towards becoming an autonomous diver by learning the basics and the safety rules for good underwater practice. It consists of a theoretical part followed by several dives at sea to put into practice what you have learnt. In just two or three days, you will obtain the coveted certificate and will be able to make guided dives up to 18 m.
The PADI and SSI organisations are internationally recognised and will allow you to dive anywhere in the world afterwards. Our diving centre is located in Blue Bay, in the southeast of Mauritius, close to a lagoon providing an ideal setting to dive in complete safety and the midst of an abundance of underwater life. In the company of our professional and enthusiastic instructors, you will enjoy perfect conditions for completing your Open Water Diver course.

We will meet at the dive centre, at the agreed-upon time, check you in and have you fill out the necessary paperwork, including the PADI/SSI Medical Statement, depending on the certification you have chosen. The dives will take place directly in the lagoon around Blue Bay, which has many shallow sites perfectly suited to beginners. The exact schedule of your course is set individually, based on your progress with the theoretical part of the course and on how much time you have to spare during the following days. We will discuss this on your first day at the dive centre.

The price includes the certified PADI/SSI instructor, all necessary diving gear (wetsuit, mask, fins, octopus, weights), the scuba tank, access to changing facilities and showers, the PADI/SSI registration fee and certificate, as well as water and fruit juices.
The course takes two or three days to complete. The exact schedule is set individually based on your progress and availability.
The minimum age is 12 years. You need to be in good physical health. If you have a heart condition or diabetes, you must bring a medical certificate.

Blue Bay Diving Mauritius uses the PADI System of diving education and offers courses as well as rental equipment that meet the international PADI standards.




The activity PADI/SSI Open Water Diver Course at Blue Bay Beach for Beginners by Blue Bay Diving Mauritius is available every day except Sunday, from August 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026. On each available day there is 1 start time at 13:15. Sessions last 2 days and are offered as group activities. Prices start from €623.00 per person.
