The lesson begins with a personal assessment to match the lesson content to your experience and goals. This builds essential confidence on gentle, designated beginner slopes. For beginners with basic skills, we emphasize learning smooth turns, speed control, and independent use of drag lifts, essential steps for navigating beginner-friendly terrain with greater comfort. For intermediate skiers, the focus shifts to refining parallel turns and improving balance and coordination on slightly steeper red slopes, while working on more fluid technique and control. We booked lessons with the Unterrader Going ski school for two people and were more than satisfied. We had two days: one 2-hour session and one 3-hour session. Our instructor, Patrick, tailored the lessons to our individual abilities. None of us ever felt neglected. As beginners, we especially appreciated this because we were guided step by step and were able to achieve our goals. Patrick is also very friendly and pleasant. What should I wear for my lessons?
You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.
When should I collect my equipment?
You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.
