Spend a wonderful day immersed in nature kayaking in Lake Skadar, taking refreshing swims and discovering this hidden gem. Starting from the charming town of Virpazar, you will be equipped with top-quality kayaks and essential gear, ready to explore Southern Europe’s largest lake at your own pace. Our experienced guides will provide a comprehensive briefing, sharing insider tips on the best routes and hidden spots only locals know.
As you push off from the shore, you will be immediately transported into a world of wonder. Paddle through narrow channels bordered by overhanging willows, then emerge onto the vast expanse of Lake Skadar. The sight of Vranjina Island, with its distinctive twin peaks, serves as a majestic landmark as you chart your own course across crystal-clear waters.
Your Lake Skadar kayaking experience will take you past historical sites like the ruins of Lesendro fortress and through the Morača River delta, an internationally recognized Important Bird Area. Keep your eyes peeled for the majestic Dalmatian pelican, the lake’s symbol, as well as pygmy cormorants and numerous other species among the 280 bird species that call Lake Skadar home. To round off your adventure, take time to relax at one of the picturesque beaches along the lakeshore, perfect for a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters. We recommend stopping at a local restaurant to refuel with a bowl of delicious fish soup, a regional speciality made with freshly caught fish from the lake. It is the perfect way to experience the local culture and cuisine that make this area so unique. This tour is ideal for nature enthusiasts and those looking to experience the serene beauty of Lake Skadar.
