What to Expect
Ready to step off the groomed slopes and experience skiing in its purest form? These freeride lessons in Tignes are designed for skiers aged 10 and above who are comfortable on red runs and want to safely explore off-piste terrain. Whether you prefer a one-on-one session or a small private group of up to 6 people, your instructor will tailor the experience to your pace and skill level.
The session begins with an introduction to freeride safety – learning how to use key equipment such as a transceiver, probe, shovel, and backpack. Once everyone is familiar with the basics, you’ll head out to discover Tignes’ varied off-piste zones, practicing essential techniques to maintain control and balance on natural snow.
Throughout the lesson, your instructor will guide you through adapting to different snow types and terrain features, helping you build the confidence needed for freeride skiing. Combining safety, progression, and adventure, this experience offers a thrilling way to enjoy the untouched side of Tignes’ legendary ski area.
Meeting Time
We meet on the snow front of Tignes le Lac, at the bottom of the Centre magic carpet, next to the terrace of Hôtel Le Levanna, 10 minutes before the start of the lesson.
Ski Pass
All skiers need a ski pass from the first day of the lessons. You can buy your ski pass at the ski lift ticket office or online before the first lesson.
