Tour programme
- Preparation:
We meet at the booked start time at the parking lot for the via ferrata at Gasthof Drachenwand. Here, you will meet your certified and experienced guide who will hand out the necessary equipment if required. Afterwards, we will walk for about 30 minutes to the start of the via ferrata. Before setting off, you will receive a detailed introduction to the route and some important safety guidelines.
- Tour:
The entry point at about 675m starts with a row of easy climbing sections. Then, the path leads us along a small waterfall up to the first lookout point, which already gives us a taste of the final view. An absolute highlight of the tour is crossing the adventurous suspension bridge, which offers you a breathtaking view at 300m above the ground. After climbing a total of 560 metres, we reach the summit, where you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the lakes and the surrounding peaks of the Dachstein massif. After a short break, we start the descent over Hirschteig. Here, the Drachenloch, another highlight of the tour, awaits us. Through the hole in the steep cliff, you will get another fantastic look at the deep blue Mondsee.
- Arrival:
After about 4 hours, we arrive back at the starting point at the Gasthof Drachenwand, which offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved lunch.
