We continue sailing toward the northwestern side of Souda Bay, where the rugged cliffs of the Akrotiri peninsula reveal hidden natural landscapes. Our first stop is Marathi Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the region. With its golden sand, calm shallow waters, and natural protection from the winds, it is the perfect place for families, couples, and those looking to relax. Here, we will stop for approximately 2 hours for swimming and free time by the sea. After our stop in Marathi, the boat anchors near a selected beach, where you will have an additional 2-hour swimming stop to enjoy the crystal-clear waters and relax in a more secluded setting. On our return journey, we continue sailing across Souda Bay, enjoying views of the surrounding coastline. Above the bay, you can also admire the ancient city of Aptera, one of the most important city-states of ancient Crete. Shortly after, on Kalami Hill, the historic Izzeddin Fortress appears, a cultural heritage monument and silent witness to the region’s rich history. Finally, we return to the Port of Souda, concluding our excursion. The captain was very friendly and you see he has experience. The places we go to are more amazing then words can describe. We recommend it to everybody. We booked the trip from 5hours and left at 8:30 in the morning. We first went to gramvousa island and later to balos beach. All before the mass of people came. My girlfriend says that the 5hours was finished before you even realize the beauty of the places. So we recommend to not book less then 5hours because you really need time to procces the beauty and enjoy it. 10/10 for sure!! We also got some local products from our captain at balos beach and a fresh drink if you'd like.
