My Dutch ski instructor, Ari, was very competent and really helped me with my beginner skiing skills, allowing me to significantly improve my short-turn technique and now being able to ski red slopes well without falling. Ari finally taught me the correct technique for turning using simple methods, such as applying pressure with your hand or ski pole while in a crouched position on your leading leg (the "power leg") and maintaining the appropriate upper body position away from the mountain. This technique and the resulting confidence in skiing have significantly reduced my fear of steeper slopes. In conclusion, I highly recommend the Herbst Ski School in Lofer. P.S.: And of course, I especially recommend ski instructor Ari at this ski school.
