Details
In small groups of up to 4 people per instructor or in a private session, this first freediving experience will allow you to dive as deep as you can without the supporting equipment you would have for scuba diving. As such, you will be subjected to your own physical limits. On the shores of the beautiful Lake Annecy, our certified instructors will teach you to hold your breath underwater, clear your head to save oxygen and move through the water without using too much energy. This way, you will discover a new environment and overcome your fears!
Free dive area
You will go into the water from the Marquisats beach (at the foot of our base) on the shores of Lake Annecy with its exceptional natural and mountainous landscapes. A few metres are enough to access deeper water.
Programme
We meet directly at our base located on the Marquisats beach. Once your equipment is provided and put on, your instructor will start the session with a theoretical introduction on the beach. At first, you will do breathing, relaxation and meditation exercises specific to freediving. You will then learn all about pressure equalization. After that, you will move into horizontal static freediving in 1m of water. You will be surprised to find that you are able to stay underwater for 1 to 3 minutes thanks to the methods taught. Next, you will freedive downwards along a vertical rope between 4 and 15 m in length. As you do so, the instructor will accompany you and provide assistance. During this free diving session, your instructor will be there to ensure your safety and will always be ready to intervene if needed. Not everyone has the same abilities, so the instructor will adapt the exercises to suit each person's abilities. If you are comfortable, they will suggest longer or deeper dives up to 20 metres.
