About the Activity

What to Expect

If your kid wants to learn how to ski, or improve their skills, these half-day kids ski lessons for kids between 4 and 11 years in Obertauern are the perfect choice! Nestled in the heart of the Austrian Alps, Obertauern offers a fun, safe environment for young skiers to learn and enjoy the sport. The ski resort is a winter wonderland with its snowy peaks and designated kids area that includes a covered magic carpet and a warm-up hut, ensuring beginners have the perfect setting to begin their skiing journey. For more advanced skiers, the resorts offers a variety of slopes for all levels.

In small groups of up to 10 kids, the lesson fosters a fun and sociable experience where kids can learn together. Instructors teach in a kids-friendly way, making sure that the lessons are engaging and easy to understand. Beginners will start by learning the basics of skiing and will familiarize themselves with their equipment, which is crucial for their comfort and confidence on the slopes. As they progress, they will learn how to make their first turns in a playful and age-appropriate manner, ensuring they build a strong foundation in skiing. Advanced skiers will work on their technique and learn how to navigate more challenging terrain.

Every Thursday, the lessons culminate in a weekly ski race at Sonnenlift 3, where children can showcase their skills. This event is a highlight as it offers a ceremonial award ceremony and medal presentation in the afternoon, celebrating each child's achievements in a memorable way. The race not only marks the end of a week of learning but also provides a sense of accomplishment and fun, making the ski course an unforgettable experience for every young skier.
