What to Expect

Looking for the perfect opportunity for your child to either start skiing or significantly boost their current abilities? These full-day kids ski lessons for children aged 4 to 11 years in Obertauern are the perfect choice! Nestled in the heart of the Austrian Alps, Obertauern offers a fun and safe environment for young skiers to enjoy the sport. The ski resort is a true winter wonderland with snowy peaks and a designated kids area. This area includes a covered magic carpet and a warm-up hut, providing the perfect setting for beginners to start their skiing journey. More advanced skiers will find a variety of slopes for all levels across the resort.

Lessons are conducted in small groups of up to 10 kids, fostering a fun and sociable experience where children learn together. Instructors teach in a kid-friendly way, ensuring the lessons are engaging and easy to understand. Beginners start by learning the basics and familiarizing themselves with their equipment, which is crucial for comfort and confidence. As they progress, they will learn to make their first turns in a playful and age-appropriate manner, building a strong skiing foundation. Advanced skiers will work on their technique and learn to navigate more challenging terrain.

Every Thursday, the lessons conclude with a weekly ski race at Sonnenlift 3, where children can proudly showcase their skills. This event is a highlight, culminating in a ceremonial award ceremony and medal presentation in the afternoon. This memorable celebration marks the end of a week of learning and provides a great sense of accomplishment, making the ski course an unforgettable experience for every young skier.

Meeting Time

We meet at the kids area directly behind the ski school office (first timers), or at the meeting point between Kirchbühellift and Sonnenlift 1 (skiers with experience), 15 minutes before the start of the lesson.

Pick-up

Upon request, children can be picked up from the hotel free of charge (only for first-timers).

Lunch Care

Your children can be cared for by the instructors during lunchbreak (meals and lunch care). You can book it directly on site.

Ski Pass

First-timers do not need a ski pass for the first day of the lessons. The instructor will advise you when to buy the ski pass.

Kids up to 6 years old don't need a ski pass for the lessons.

Advanced skiers need a ski pass for the lessons. You can buy your ski pass online or at the lift ticket office before the first lesson.

Good to Know

• For the Christmas holidays & school holidays in February, we recommend you book early in advance due to high demand

• Please make sure your kid has skis, ski boots, helmet, gloves & sunglasses or goggles at the start of the lesson

• It is possible to switch between different skill levels during the course if a participant's abilities improve quickly

• If less than 4 participants book the course, the full-day course will be cut short to a half-day course
