Discover the magnificent coastline around Palermo with this boat trip to Isola delle Femmine. We will depart from Palermo and head north, immediately encountering Grotta della Regina (Queen's Grotto), where Queen Caroline of Austria loved to bathe in total privacy.
A little further on, we will find several tuna fisheries, such as the Tonnara dei Florio, not far from the Arenella beach, and the Tonnara Vergine Maria, which dates back to the 15th century. Even if the tunas changed their route, the area is still rich in fish, and if you want we will set our fishing equipment and hope for a good catch! We will then pass in front of Monte Pellegrino until we reach the famous Mondello beach, which still houses a Belle Époque bathing establishment.
We will stop in the Gulf of Mondello for about 1 hour, during which you can swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of this area. Once everyone is back on the boat, we will head towards the Capo Gallo Nature Reserve, which is very important for the biodiversity of this area. Here we admire the imposing promontory, on which stands a Bourbon lighthouse, and then dive back into the water to cool off. When you're hungry, we will serve a light lunch that you can enjoy in our spacious dining area.
After passing Capo Gallo, we will find the beautiful Grotta dell'Olio, where we will stop for another swim of about 1 hour. We will then pass Sferracavallo and reach Isola delle Femmine, a stop-off point for migratory birds between Africa and Europe, and rich in underwater life. We will stop for a last swim near the island and then return to Palermo.
Amazing boat trip! We had such a fun day. The boat trip included everything we needed! Lovely food, drink and snorkel kits. The perfect amount of time on the boat and so glad we did this experience on our last day in Palermo - really well priced. Thank you!
Beautiful excursion led by the legendary Captain Alessio ... maximum seriousness and availability
