In front of the Tourotel on the slopeside, where our Oxyski flags are (311 Rue de la Lombarde, 73440 Les Belleville)
Framed by the spectacular peaks of the French Alps, Val Thorens provides the perfect setting for our Pro-Rider ski lessons. These courses are designed for confident young skiers aged 12 to 16 who are eager to push their limits. To take part, your child must already be a strong skier on all types of slopes – including black runs – and at least at the French Ski d’Or level. With a maximum of 8 participants per group, our experienced instructors offer personalised attention as children begin by developing the essentials of freeride, as well as learning to adapt to changing snow conditions.
As the lessons advance, participants will take on more challenging terrain, honing their technique and building confidence on steeper runs. The focus is on high-level skills such as carving, precise edge control, and fluid movement across demanding slopes. By the end of the week, your child will have gained both independence and mastery, ready to enjoy the mountain with greater freedom. Surrounded by its world-renowned alpine landscapes, Val Thorens offers the ideal playground for young skiers to refine their skills and rise to new challenges.
We meet in front of the Oxyski flags, in front of the Tourotel hotel in Val Thorens, 10 minutes before the start of the lesson.
Morning lessons take place on Sundays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, and from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.
All skiers need a ski pass from the first day of the lessons. You can buy your ski pass at the ski lift ticket office or online before the first lesson.

During our courses we are always wearing a helmet
You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.
You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.
Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children in some countries, but it is strongly recommended for everyone, regardless of age.
Unless otherwise stated, you must have your ski pass with you for the first lesson. You can usually buy one at the ski lift office or online. Discounted rates may be available for children or beginners, so check with your ski school to find out which pass is most suitable.
Generally, it is advisable to book lessons as early as possible. This is especially important during school holidays, such as Christmas and February, when lessons can fill up quickly.
Participants must be confident skiers aged 12 to 16 with at least 12 weeks of skiing experience. They need to be able to ski comfortably on all slopes, including black runs, and have at least the French Ski d'Or level.
Groups have a maximum of 8 participants per instructor, ensuring personalised guidance and attention.
The meeting point is in front of the Oxyski flags, located outside the Tourotel hotel in Val Thorens, 10 minutes before the lesson starts.
