Details
Want a whole day of sports activity? This river trekking route where you walk through the Grand Canyon of Verdon in the heart of its gorges is the must of watersports at the Verdon.
It offers you everything you can expect from river trekking: sport (lots of rapids to swim down), fun (optional jumps up to 10 m), grandeur (passages such as Imbut and Styx), engagement (walk to the entry point and back).
As there are not many groups that practice this activity, you have the canyon almost for yourself!
Unlike canyoning, a river trekking descent does not include any abseiling passage.
Tour programme
- Preparation:
We can meet at our base in Castellane or directly at the activity site in Aiguines. In the first case, we take a minibus that takes us there in 45 min. The participants joining in Aiguines will be expected by the guide who will give a briefing on the posture to adopt but also on the importance of following the path so as not to destroy the fragile ecosystem of the Verdon.
- Tour:
Our route starts with a 45-min walk downwards with 300 m of altitude difference. There follow numerous rapids, jumps, a passage in caves, and natural siphons (parts of the cave which are underwater). Then the cherry on the cake is a climb of 1 h and 300 m of altitude difference.
- Return:
After our tour, those who have arrived with us will be brought back to our base.
