Our guide gave us lots of safety information. We tackled high waves and swam alongside the raft during calmer sections of the river. Overall, it was a very varied tour with fantastic views and a guide who always made us feel completely safe. It was quite a hike uphill in the wetsuit in temperatures above 30 degrees, but once you are in the water, you cool down in no time. The trip is manageable with children (even younger children with a bit of courage) and there are plenty of "rest stops".
