Goal of the course
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme serves as a short introduction to diving and diving certificate courses. Thanks to this trial course, you'll be able to get an idea of what diving is, if you enjoy it, and what certificate courses look like in case you'd like to become a certified diver. If you enjoyed diving during this course and were also interested in what you were taught during the theory lessons or the things you learned with your PADI Scuba Diver Manual, you will be ready for the Scuba Diver and Open Water PADI courses. That will allow you to improve your diving skills and become more autonomous.
Meeting & Preparation
We meet at our diving centre, at the scheduled time. There is free parking available. We also offer a pick-up service from various places around Chania (if you would like to use this service, please contact us once your booking is completed).
Once at the centre, you'll be asked to fill out some paperwork for the upcoming activity, and you will receive a PADI Scuba Diver Manual in which you'll find your learning material. After that, you will be shown a DVD that will explain the basics of diving, such as the handling of your equipment and the most important hand signals used for communicating underwater. After a short theoretical lesson, you will simply have to get changed and put on your diving equipment.
Course content
- 1 theory lesson
- 1 practice dive in the pool
- 1 open water boat dive (If your instructor sees that you are confident enough in the pool, you will be able to do a 30-45 minute shore dive, right in front of our diving centre, at the beach. During this dive, participants can dive up to 12 m with their instructor.)
Note: The order and length of the individual parts of the course can change and will be individually adapted by the instructor.
