Details
The PADI Open Water Diver course is THE classic course for diving initiation. Here, our team will teach you all the basics, will assist you in confined and open water dives, and will show you some of Chania's most beautiful diving sites. Participating in and finishing this course means you will be one step closer to being an autonomous diver, so pack your swimsuit and get ready for your first of many underwater adventures!
Goal of the course
The PADI Open Water Diver consists of theory lessons, 5 confined water dives and 4 open water dives. With the PADI Open Water certificate, you will be able to dive up to 18 m with another certified diver, meaning your partner doesn't even have to be an instructor: if you have friends or family who are certified divers, you can just go explore some sites with them - the waters of the entire world is your playground!
Meeting & Preparation
We meet at our diving centre, at the scheduled time. There is free parking available. We also offer a pick-up service from various places around Chania (if you would like to use this service, please contact us once your booking is completed).
Once at the centre, you will be asked to fill out some paperwork for the upcoming activity. As this course is also focused on knowledge development, you will have theory lessons in our classroom. If you have already dived before, you may skip some theory lessons and/or even confined water dives.
Course content
- Day 1: Theory lessons + 3 confined water dives
- Day 2: Theory lessons + 1 confined water dive + 1 open water dive
- Day 3: Theory lessons + 1 confined water dive + 1 open water dive
- Day 4: Theory lessons + 2 open water dives
Note: The order and length of the individual parts of the course can change and will be individually adapted by the instructor. Also, the course days do not have to be consecutive. You will discuss the exact schedule with your instructor on your first day with us.
