Vulcano is a sensational natural site, where the characteristic smell of sulfur pervades every corner and where nature rules. If you are wondering how to visit Vulcano in one day, the answer is simple: with our boat trip around Vulcano with a guided tour of Vulcanello! This is a great opportunity to see the island from the sea, but also explore it on foot with a volcanological guide.
You will meet our guide at the port of Vulcano and start the walk to the peninsula of Vulcanello. The guide will bring you to visit the "valley of the monsters", an area with huge volcanic rocks that resemble scary beasts and that offers amazing landscapes. Vulcanello has two inactive craters and a lush vegetation, and is connected to the island of Vulcano by a thin isthmus. After your visit to the crater, you will have time to explore the island independently, visit the beaches with black sand, and enjoy our included lunch with the typical pane cunzato, which consists of bread with olive oil, fresh tomatoes, and mozzarella.
At 2 pm, we will depart from the port of Vulcano for a boat tour of the island of about two hours. During the navigation, it will be possible to appreciate the wonderful coves, inlets, and volcanic formations typical of the Aeolian islands. From the boat, you will also see the sea stacks, the Piscina di Venere (Venus' pool), and the little village of Gelso. At the discretion of the captain, we will stop for a swim break so that you can dive off the boat and enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Aeolian archipelago.
