Meeting & Preparation
We meet 5 minutes before the agreed time, on the left side of the entrance door of Ericeira Camping Park. If you are travelling by car, there is free parking nearby. At the beginning you will meet your group and your surf instructor. Then together, you will go to the surf centre, where you will find changing rooms and lockers for your valuables. Before the lesson begins, we will provide you with all the equipment you need for surfing.

The lesson lasts 2.5 hours, of which you will spend a total of about 1 hour and 30 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes in the water. At the beginning of the lesson, your surf instructor will tell you everything you need to know about surfing technique and safety in the water. And then it's time to give it a try!

Start time
The start time depends on the tides to ensure the best conditions. Therefore, please plan to allocate some extra time on the day of your surf lesson. Your surf instructor will inform you of the start time the day before the lesson and discuss with you which group (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced) you can make the best progress in (courses can start from 7 a.m.).

Beginners:
- Guidelines for safety measures
- Preparatory warm-up exercises
- Basics of positioning and balance on the surfboard
- Learning the stand-up technique
- Learning elementary surfing manoeuvres and successfully riding your first waves

Intermediate:
- Mastering wave selection and surfing both left and right
- Confidently catching and riding green waves
- Developing comprehensive knowledge about the ocean (including rips, tides, and optimal spot selection) & surfing etiquette
- Opportunity of insights and experimenting with various surfboards
- Dedicated focus on refining personal surfing techniques

Advanced:
- Mastering wave reading, spot analysis, and refining technical skills
- Surfing on challenging breaks, perfecting frontside and backside techniques
- Understanding of the lineup, including surf etiquette, safety, and priority rules
- Studying ocean dynamics, swell forecasting, and surf terminology
- Utilizing video analysis for visual feedback
- Exploring diverse surfboard options
