Under which circumstances will my canyoning tour be cancelled?

Canyoning tours rarely get cancelled since "bad weather“ in general is no reason to cancel a tour. Whether or not a canyoning tour needs to be cancelled depends on the water levels and conditions. The guide will assess these conditions to ensure your safety at all times will notify you in advance.

How long in advance should I book my canyoning tour?

As canyoning is particularly popular in the summer months and on weekends, it is recommended to book in advance. This way you have a better chance to secure your preferred date, especially when you are a larger group.

Is there a weight limit?

If your weight exceeds 125kg please write a message to the provider beforehand.

What is "Canyoning"?

On a canyoning tour you will be guided through a canyon by a certified guide. You will master various physical challenges, such as abseiling, different slides and jumps into the water.

What kind of equipment do I have to take with me?

Wetsuits, helmets and belts will be provided on location. All the equipment is regularly serviced and cleaned. You just need to take your swimwear, towels, bodywash, a set of clothes to change and an additional pair of (trekking) shoes (unless explicitly provided by the tour provider) with you.

Do I need a guide for canyoning?

Since canyoning is an adventurous outdoor activity the booking of an experienced and local guide is important. This way the risk of getting injured is reduced to a minimum and at the same time the guide will ensure that you experience the full amount of fun and action during your tour. Booking a canyoning tour via CheckYeti assures you that the tour is carried out by an experienced canyoning provider with professional guides.

Are there any age restrictions?

Most of the canyoning providers offer special tours for children and/or families - these tours are marked as such. From the age of 4 family tours are offered. The required minimum age of participants is listed under "Tour Facts" in every offer.

Do I need to have experience with canyoning?

Since every canyoning provider offers special tours for beginners it is not necessary to have previous canyoning experience. You will get all the necessary instructions right before the tour starts. There are, however, difficult tours for participants with advanced skills. To book such tours you are required to have previous experience with canyoning. You can find more details on these requirements in the description of the specific canyoning tour.

Which difficulty levels are there?

CheckYeti created a simple structure for the different levels of difficulty based on the official whitewater classifications. EASY: These tours are suitable for beginners as well as for more advanced participants and do not require canyoning experience. MODERATE: These tours are considered medium difficult. Although challenging, canyoning experience is not mandatory for this type of tour, but recommended. DIFFICULT: These tours are considered difficult and should be booked only by experienced participants.

Are there canyoning tours suitable for bachelor parties or team events?

A canyoning tour is perfect for bachelor parties and team events. You will face challenging slides and jumps and master them together in a group. Action and pure fun is guaranteed! Just give us a call or contact us (support@checkyeti.com) and we will help you to organise your ideal event.
