Tour programme
Meeting point
Our pick up point for the Reindeer Experience & Feeding at Sami Camp in Tromsø is in front of the Rorbua Pub next to Radisson Blu Hotel, in Tromsø City Centre. Our team will meet you 15 minutes before the tour starting time. From there, it will take us approx. 25 min by bus to reach the Sami reindeer camp.
Activity
We will introduce you to our cute friends and will give you buckets filled with their favourite food. You can walk among the reindeers, stroke them, hand-feed them and take pictures with them. If you are interested, a reindeer herder will tell you more about the herding and teach you how to throw a lasso (not on a reindeer though).
After this experience, you will enter a warm candle-lit traditional Sami hut gamme with a cosy atmosphere. Inside, we will serve you hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate around the fire. For lunch, we will serve you a home-made Sami soup bidos followed by cookies and more hot drinks. To finish your day at our camp, you will gather around the fire and listen to the storytelling of Sami Culture and traditional folk song joik.
