Tour programme
Meeting point
We will meet at the Tromsø Havn Prostneset bus terminal 20 minutes before the tour starts. There are two entrances: one by the buses and one between the terminal and the Clarion Edge hotel. Our guides will be located by the buses, where they will be ready to depart for the camp. From there, it will take approximately 25 minutes by bus to reach the Sami reindeer camp, where a local guide will be waiting for you.
Tour
First, a reindeer herder will introduce you to the herd of 300 beautiful fluffy reindeer. You can enjoy walking among them, stroking them, hand-feeding them and also taking pictures and selfies with them. Afterwards, your guide and your new cute friends will take you for a romantic sledding tour on a wooden sled decorated by lanterns.
After approx. 25 min, we will invite you for a hot drink into the traditional candlelit Sami house gamme. Inside, around the fire, you will feel warm and cosy while being served delicious smoked salmon followed by a typical Sami stew bidos with Sami bread and a chocolate cake and blueberry dessert. In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, you will enjoy listening to the fascinating storytelling of Sami culture and the Sami folk song joik. On a clear night, you might be lucky and catch the spectacular northern lights' performance.
