Spend a day in the heart of the Ardèche Gorges. This kayak & canoe hire 24 km descent is the ideal way to challenge yourself while enjoying the magnificent wild landscapes of the nature reserve. If you get tired, you can stop at one of the many beaches along the river to refresh yourself or have a picnic in an idyllic setting. Whether you are alone, with family or friends, get into one of our canoes and discover the treasures of the Ardèche!
Tour programme- Preparation:
We meet at our base in the Châmes hamlet, just outside Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, at the booked time. You will find free parking there. The start of the descent will be at the base. We will provide you with all the necessary equipment (life jacket, waterproof container, canoe and paddle), and we will give you a short initiation on how to use it.
- Tour:
Once the canoe is in the water, set off on a long journey through the heart of the Natural Reserve of the Ardèche Gorges. On your way, you will encounter many rapids that will make your descent even more interesting. You will also pass some natural wonders, including the Aiguille de Morsanne and the Cathedral, an impressive rock over 100 m high. Finally, take advantage of the many beaches along the way, to stop for a bath or picnic.
- Return:
After 24 km of effort, the tour will end in Sauze, where shuttles will frequently come and go, between 4 and 5 pm, to bring you back to the base.

The Ardèche is a beautiful river with fabulous scenery and the kayak is an adventitious way to see it all ! Brilliant. Good organization at the end of the day too.

Will I be in the same boat as my friends, and how do I book a kayak for two?
Yes, one canoe can accommodate up to 3 people (2 adults and 1 child between 7 and 11 years old). To book for two people, you simply rent one canoe.
How big is the group, and is transport to/from the starting point provided?
This is a rental service, so you will be on your own and not part of a guided group. A shuttle service is included to bring you from the arrival point in Sauze back to the starting base.
Where can I store my valuables during the tour?
You will receive a waterproof container to store your personal belongings and keep them dry during the tour.
What are the requirements to participate?
The minimum age for this tour is 7 years. All participants must be in good physical health and know how to swim.
Can I bring my dog?
