What to Expect

If your child has never skied before or has a little experience but wants to learn the basics of skiing in a safe and supportive environment, these ski lessons for kids aged 4 to 11 in Zell am See are the perfect choice. Nestled in the picturesque Schmittenhöhe - Zell am See - Kaprun ski resort, with 77 kilometres of slopes, the area offers a great variety of beginner-friendly runs. Your child will be introduced to skiing in a fun and engaging way with the help of specially trained and experienced ski instructors. To ensure a personalized experience, group sizes are kept small, with a maximum of 12 children.

In the beginning, the children will be grouped according to their age and ability, ensuring the best learning experience. The lessons then begin with getting familiar with the equipment, which is crucial for safety and comfort on the snow. As part of the course, children will learn to stop safely and make their first turns on the gentle slopes. The use of playful learning methods and state-of-the-art teaching aids helps kids grasp the basics quickly, boosting their confidence. With Schmittenhöhe's mascot “Schmidolin” around, the learning process becomes even more delightful, encouraging children to enjoy the slopes.

The highlight of the week is the final race on Thursday, where every child has the chance to showcase their new skills. Each participant will receive a certificate and medal, celebrating their progress and achievements. These ski lessons are ideal for kids who have never skied before, providing a solid foundation and a memorable experience in the beautiful setting of Zell am See.

Meeting Time

Please visit the selected ski school office either the day before or on the day of the lesson, latest 45 minutes before the lesson. The offices are located at the bottom stations of the following cable cars: AreitXpress, CityXpress and TrassXpress.

For the actual lesson: Depending on what location you book, we will meet 30 minutes before the start of the lesson at one of our ski school offices at the bottom stations of the cable cars AreitXpress, CityXpress or TrassXpress.

Lunch Care

Your children can be cared for by the instructors during lunch from 12 pm to 1 pm (meals and lunch care). You can book it directly on site.

Ski Pass

When you come to one of our ski school offices before the start of your lesson, you will get all the information about what ski pass you will need.

Children under 6 years generally receive a free ski pass.

Good to Know

• Please make sure your kid has skis, ski boots, helmet, gloves & sunglasses or goggles at the start of the lesson

• During our courses we are always wearing a helmet

• If a group has fewer than 4 participants, either groups will be merged or the lesson time will be shortened

• It is possible to switch between different skill levels or change instructor during the course
