Our family canyoning tour along Ribeira de Vessadas is the perfect adventure for all families with children from 5 years old. Lots of fun jumps and natural waterslides will make the little adventurers' hearts beat faster and also bring a lot of joy to the grown-up participants. We meet at the town hall of Arouca (Câmara Municipal de Arouca), from where we start our way to the canyon. The trip takes about 25 minutes. You can either drive with your own car or we can take up to 7 participants with our vehicles.
Tour
Before we start, you will receive the appropriate canyoning equipment and a detailed safety briefing from your guide. Then the adventure begins: We jump, slide and rope down over small waterfalls. But don't worry, all jumps are optional and can be avoided if you don't dare to jump.
Return
After about 2.5 hours in the canyon we reach the end of the tour and return to the meeting point in Arouca by car.Tour facts

We did the tour with our two children, aged 6 and 9, and we all had a great experience! David, our guide, let us experience everything at our own pace. The children immediately trusted him. He helped where help was needed, encouraged where possible and documented everything with his camera. It was incredibly beautiful and exciting to abseil down the waterfalls, jump from rocks or slide down. And it was all voluntary and we were even allowed to do it again if we wanted. The wonderful nature also made this experience particularly beautiful. We will definitely do it again!

There were 5 of us: my husband, me and 3 of my daughters. We had a great time, our 2 guides were very patient with my 9 year old daughter who was scared at first. Christiane always took great photos and always moved to take good viewpoints. Their mastery of both was very reassuring for us. An incredible experience, I really recommend it. It was a feast for the eyes and legs 😄👍
