Details
Our easy river trekking along Rio Paiva combines a hike through Arouca Geopark with swimming and floating in the river. Along the way we stop to shower in waterfalls and to do some cliff jumping for the brave ones among you. Feel the connection with nature and the power of the river as you are carried by the rapids and swim through clear pools. You can also perfectly combine this adventure with a visit to the Paiva Walkways by river trekking downstream and hike the walkways upstream.
Tour programme
- Preparation:
We meet at "Praia Fluvial do Areinho", about one hour drive from Porto. Here you will meet your guides, receive the necessary equipment and get changed. As soon as all participants are ready, we head to the starting point of our river trekking tour on the Rio Paiva which is directly at the meeting point.
- Tour:
Before you start you will receive a safety briefing from your guide. Then we hike and swim along the river. On the way we pass rapids, waterfalls and natural pools which invite you to take a dip. If you dare, you can also try one or the other cliff jump into the refreshing water.
