What to Expect

If your children would like to improve their skiing skills, then this ski course for children aged 4 to 12 with prior skiing experience in the beautiful Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach ski resort is ideal! Nestled in the stunning Zillertal, this resort offers a perfect combination of breathtaking views and a wide variety of slopes for all levels. With its modern facilities and welcoming atmosphere, it is an excellent choice for young skiers who want to develop their skills further.

The course is designed to make skiing easy and fun, with a strong focus on adventure and learning. The lessons are specially tailored for children, using modern teaching tools and ideal terrain conditions. Children will first get to know their equipment, an essential step in building confidence and control on the slopes. Throughout the course, young skiers will learn parallel skiing, refine their technique, and improve their ability to navigate more challenging terrain and steeper slopes. These skills are crucial for developing agility and precision, enabling children to safely tackle more demanding runs. By the end of the course, participants will have built a solid foundation in skiing and will be ready for new adventures with increased confidence and ability.

The Kids World (300 m²) at mountain station II is our ski school’s own children’s restaurant. Here, we offer excellent lunchtime supervision in a child-friendly environment. Children can eat, play, and recharge before continuing with their afternoon lessons. With various play areas, children’s toilets, and a kids’ cinema, your children are well taken care of during the lunch break.

The highlight of the week is the children’s ski race on Thursday, where every participant receives a certificate and a medal – a wonderful reminder of the progress they have made.

Meeting Time

We meet 15 minutes before the course starts at the mountain station, 50 metres to the left in the Kids’ Park of Skischule Optimal.

After purchasing your ski pass, please take the red gondola on the left to the mountain station (second stop). From there, walk about 50 metres to the left to our meeting points. Meeting point for children’s ski courses: Kids’ Park.

Please collect the children’s course tickets the day before by 17:00 or on the starting day by 09:00 at the main office, located 50 metres before the valley station in Kaltenbach, in order to specify the child’s exact skiing level.

Lunch Care

If you book including supervision with lunch, our instructors will be happy to take care of your kids during the lunch break from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm. A delicious lunch is included. Alternatively, you can pick them up from the kids' area "Kinderpark" if you booked without supervision.

Ski Pass

Kids up to 6 years old don't need a ski pass for the lessons. All kids above need a ski pass.

Please be aware that you need a ski pass to take your kid to the meeting point.

Good to Know

• For the Christmas holidays & school holidays in February, we recommend you book early in advance due to high demand

• Please note that the course only takes place with a minimum of 5 participants

• Please make sure your kid has skis, ski boots, helmet, gloves & sunglasses or goggles at the start of the lesson

• During our courses we are always wearing a helmet

• The kids' ski race course is located in the children's park behind the 40 metre long conveyor belt. Advanced children start on the left-hand side. The times for the start and the award ceremony will be announced by the respective ski instructor on the day of the race before the start of the course and, for organisational reasons, only children who have ski lessons until Thursday can take part in the race.

• The Kinderpark is located in the ski area directly at the mountain station on the left. The gondola ride from the valley to the ski area takes approx. 15 - 20 minutes.

• The ski pass is not included in the price of the ski lesson.

• All children in the group course have the guaranteed option to extend the ski course on the following days.
