Half Day River Trekking in Couloir Samson & Trescaïre

Discover the most secret places of the Gorges du Verdon while river trekking in Couloir Samson and Trescaïre. The area is inaccessible to rafts and canoes, so a river hike is the only possibility to discover this zone.

During the first part of the tour, you will be impressed by the Grand Canyon du Verdon with its steep cliffs and numerous rapids, as well as its caves and rocks. The second part of the tour will take place in a very wild area, so you will certainly have the chance to come across many fossils. You will also be able to admire the protected environment and the Rancoumas cliffs that surround you. So come and enjoy a unique experience, with your group of 8 participants maximum and your certified guide!

Tour programme
- Preparation:
We meet at our base in Castellane, where we will provide you with your equipment. Afterwards, your guide will give you a briefing on the safety instructions and the characteristics of the tour. Then a 20-minute shuttle bus ride to the starting point is necessary.
- Tour:
Our itinerary is a succession of swimming down rapids and jumping between 2 and 6 meters. The route is one of the narrowest and most vertiginous parts of the Verdon canyon. Above you, you will have the chance to see vultures, the "route des Crêtes" and climbers. You will finish the 5 km descent in the Trescaïre, a wild part with breathtaking views of the cliffs.
- Return:
The 3-hour water tour will end with a 35-minute walk to the shuttle bus that will take us back to the base (20-minute ride).
